The middle of summer, smack dab in July’s midsection, herald the eruption of wildflowers in Colorado. Crested Butte gets an outsized portion of this display, and Annie had planned already to be in that part of the state on the tail end of peak season.
The mosquitos, on the other hand, still seemed fully peaked and primed and were more than happy to nip at our exposed skin at every opportunity.
Since we were camping at Lottis Creek, there was a bit of a drive adjoining the gentle contours of the Taylor River before crossing over and up on the other side of the mountain to Crested Butte. Great opportunity for some timed exposures.
