Christmas in New Orleans

Many of you may know New Orleans is our soul city. We met here for one of our first dates while living in different cities, and it’s where we tied the knot back in 2001 (the weekend following 9/11) on what would have been my late parents 39th wedding anniversary. We’ve visited several times over the years for lots of different reasons, from Mardi Gras to birthdays to my surgery to just because, and the city never disappoints. 

Being here over the Winter holidays was one of our bucket list items, and it was lovely visiting a few of our old favorite neighborhoods and adding a new one near where we were staying: Covington (technically across the lake on the north shore, but close enough). 

What we loved the most is the sheer variety of how different households (and businesses) celebrated and decorated. New Orleans is always up for a holiday/party and they always bring it. See for yourself…
